MariMar was finally acknowledged by Gustavo, but was that his last act as MariMar’s father?
A whirlwind of events flooded the Aldama Mansion after Natalia arrived to claim the identity of Gustavo’s missing daughter. But when MariMar’s memories returned, Esperanza pushed for her to reveal the truth—leading the way for Gustavo to ask for a DNA test that revealed Natalia’s true nature.
Natalia took MariMar and Cruzita as hostages, giving Gustavo a heart attack. Sergio has a small glimmer of hope that Natalia can lead him to MariMar.
But when Natalia dies, all that’s left with Sergio is an angry Kim who has finally given up trying to make him fall in love with her.
Meanwhile, MariMar and Esperanza are faced with probably the hardest decision they will ever make when they are given only two options for their loved one: a risky heart transplant operation or certain death for Gustavo.

After taking on various roles in four afternoon soaps, she entered the primetime scene as Ester Paredes in Super Twins, which served as a springboard for a larger fan base. Playing a mother to twins in the series, Marian had people surprised that someone so young could pull off such a mature character.
The true test of her acting prowess, however, came when she auditioned for the meatiest role any Pinay actress could ever hope for. When news came out that she bagged the title, many were pleasantly taken aback. Some asked, out of all the stars out there, why Marian? All it takes is one look at her audition tape to be certain. Because that doe-eyed lass projecting for the camera and sashaying her hips to the music was no longer Marian – it was Marimar!

Why Marian Rivera is perfect as Marimar
When GMA-7 announced that it has bought the rights to the Mexican soap opera Marimar, the names of some of the most beautiful young stars in the network were proposed as the soap's leading lady. When the Kapuso Network announced the name of the lady to play Marimar, the choice surprised even the most casual observers: They picked Marian Rivera.
Marian is, undoubtedly, a big gamble. The half-Spanish Marian is gorgeous, but she's relatively a newbie in the business. Can she make Marimar GMA-7's new primetime hit?
Whatever doubters may say, Marian has the full support and unwavering faith of her manager, Popoy Caritativo. She has what it takes to make it. Says Popoy:
"Her acting talent is very remarkable. She acts really well—having done sweet, good, evil, poor, teen girl, mother, and crazy roles with much credibility [and] all her past directors have been satisfied with her performances." This talent may have much to do with her intelligence. She learns very fast. "I always compare her to a sponge which takes in so much so fast. She is like that...she is always very eager to learn."
Marian's attitude is also a big reason manager Popoy believes so much in her. She's not a brat, a pa-star or pasaway. Like the fictional Marimar, she's a good kid. "As a talent she is very obedient to me. She does what I tell her to because she trusts me one hundred percent. Whenever I tell her to do something, she does it no questions asked because she knows that I will always be after her good...she trusts me with all her heart."
Which is not to say that Marian is always a prim-and-proper angel. She can also be gregarious, galawgaw, mapang-asar, and very playful. But one thing you can never complain about her would be any lack of commitment to her work. "She doesn't go out partying or in gimmicks. She just always stays at home. She takes her work seriously and makes it a point to do research on the roles that she portrays," Popoy adds.
With qualities like these, there's no doubt that that GMA-7 made the right choice in choosing Marian. Marimar may make her the next important star and the next few months may change this girl's life and even her values. It's a possibility that, even at this stage, Popoy wants to prevent. "I always tell her to remain humble. That in spite of her growing popularity, she should remain who she is inside. I remind her that whenever she prays, aside from saying thank you to God for all the blessings, she should always pray for humility." Popoy adds.

Last Sunday, July 29, Showbiz Central gave the first look at the sizzling hot billboards of GMA-7’s newest offering: the remake of the telenovela sensation Marimar.
The program’s lead stars, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, themselves led the unveiling of the eye-catching billboards along EDSA.
“Ako, sobrang saya! “First time ko kasi magkaroon ng billboard, kaya wala akong masabi. Talagang, wow,” Marian gushed after Showbiz Central host Raymond Gutierrez asked how she felt during the event.
The first billboard along EDSA corner East Avenue, Quezon City has Marian rising from the sea and the second, the one posted on the GMA Network building, shows Marian and Dingdong in a steamy pose.
“Alam mo, naalala ko pa nga ‘yung sinabi ni Jun De Leon (photographer) that day nung kinukunan niya kami ng photos,” Dingdong shared. “Sabi niya, ‘Bingo! We got the shot.’ So, ayan, nakita ko, ito na mismo ‘yung shot. Wow talaga, wow!”
Now that the billboards have been revealed, does that mean Marimar will soon be seen on TV? That’s a yes, replied Dingdong. “Itong billboard, isang patunay na palapit nang palapit na ang Marimar. Kaya abangan nyo sometime in August.”
Marian added, “Kung minahal nila dati si Marimar, mas mamahalin pa nila lalo ngayon. Kaya aabangan talaga nila dapat ‘yun!”
And Dingdong quickly followed up with, “Dahil siyempre sa kagalingan ni Marian sa pagganap bilang Marimar. Malaking bagay ‘yun. Abangan ‘yan.”

Finally ay naipahayag na ng GMA Management and it was now totally confired that the actress Marian Rivera won the title role as Thalia's "Marimar" in Philippine Version. When Angel Locsin not accepted for that role. Eventually ay very warm at humble naman si Marian sa paglabas ng news na ito. At thankful naman daw siya na siya ang napili ng management among other aspiring actresses na nag-audition. Marami kasing GMA talents ang nag-auditon para lamang sa titled role. Sa bagay, Marian was definitely deserving for the role at napakagaling niyang umarte. Ito ang usap-usapan sa mga internet forums ngayon. Marami kasi ang agree dito. After her current two shows niya sa GMA na “Muli” at “Super Twins” eh ito na ang next project ni Marian. And now she will play the lead role. Sabi nga ni Ms. Yda Henares (GMA artist center) at ni Ms. Wilma Galvante (GMA entertainment for TV) na lumabas sa press interview, na halos lahat ng shows na kinabibilangan ni Marian Rivera got a high ratings. “She act so very well” sabi ng management head. She was doin very well even in her past shows appearances in her afternoon soap like TAPE's "Kung Mamahalin Mo Lang Ako", "Agawin Mo Man Ang Lahat Sa Akin" at "Pinakamamahal". And all that got make a better feedback, especially the way she acts. Kaya naging proud si Ms. Malou Choa Fagar sa kanya. And based on tabloids survey na nakalap ng mga entertainment columnists, eh si Marian ang nakakuha ng may pinakamataas na score na umabot sa 87% compare sa original choices to play the role na si Angel Locsin na nakakuha lamang ng 10% at ang naiiwang 3% ay sa mga suggested actresses lang ng ilan. So, dito na kaya nagdecide ang management na finally ay siya na nga. She so pretty & talented. Wala ka nang hahanapin pa sa kanya. At sabi nga ng ilan mas deserving pa nga siya to play the role compare to Angel Locsin na balitang magbabakasyon muna abroad for her Fashion Studies. And Angel said,agree siya na si Marian ang napili at talagang bagay daw kay Marian ang role compare sa kanya. Na hindi naman niya kayang sumayaw. Yan ang naging pahayag ni Angel sa Press interview niya.So, sa'yo Marian CONGRATULATIONS! and more power!
